Who it suits

Cabin charter — sailing as travel, not boat-handling.

You're not chartering a yacht; you're booking a cabin on one. Captain + hostess take care of everything. You share the deck and meals with up to 8 other guests.

How the week runs

8 guests, 4 cabins, one captain, one rhythm.

Cabin charters use catamarans for the most part — 4 cabins, 8 guests. The week has a set route (the captain picks based on weather), set departure and arrival times, communal meals at sea, evenings ashore at the harbour.

Cabin charter questions

Asked and answered.

Will I get my own bathroom?
On catamarans, yes — every cabin has its own en-suite. On larger monohulls (rare for cabin charters), sometimes 2 cabins share a head.
Will I share my cabin with a stranger?
Only if you book a single berth in a 2-berth cabin (some operators offer this; most don't). Most cabins are sold as a unit — you + partner/friend, or you with single supplement.
Who else is on the boat?
Other independent travellers — mix of nationalities, ages 25-65, often solo or couple-paired. Some operators specialise (silent retreat, fitness-themed). Tell us your vibe; we'll match.
Can I bring my kids?
Most cabin charters are 18+ to keep the social rhythm. A few operators run family-themed cabin weeks — check the calendar.
What if I don't click with the group?
You can hide in your cabin and the cockpit's usually big enough to find a quiet corner. Most cabin charters self-select — the vibe matters to the captain.
